The Silver Birch People

from £95.00

Magic and mystery is here in the forest. Elementals watch you as you pass by, no harm they mean, but curious of the stranger.

The idea of this illustration is the stranger in the forest. Looking at things the other way round in the way of saying: what does nature make of us?

I used wax resist, watercolours and some pen and ink to achieve a sense of depth but also translucency. The red fly agaric' add for me a feeling of faerie and a reminder that such places are fully alive whether we are there or no. They exist and they let us pass pass by.
