The Mischievous Forest
This is an unusual watercolour for me. I wanted to explore complexity and layers of time depicted all in one landscape. The title of the piece says a lot about my approach as I sort ways to lead the viewer away from the obvious and instead to get them to explore the paths unravelling before them. There is a sense that the character Jack in the Green is playing with us as we go deeper and deeper into his realm. trees start flying in the distance while roots grow down from the sky.
