The Journey South

£110.00

Watercolour and digital painting. This is the opening Illustration to Book One, 'The Hidden Destiny'. This depicts the great Journey of the Elves of the North as they carried their sacred forest away from natural storms wreaking havoc in the North of the World.

"They travelled through the Land of the Dwarves and saw their great fires. They entered the trading city of Ffieg and were given provisions by those who heard their story. They crossed the frozen seas in skating ships and saw before them the rising Tower of Holythrond, the Land of the Dead; they did not go there, nor would they go to the Hill of Bones. Instead they went on, ever south, and the further they travelled, greater were the storms that confronted them.

It was a long and arduous journey, and some did not survive. They buried their dead as they went, and young and old alike helped one another on their great journey. They traversed many rough terrains, made all the worse by the unnatural storm that seemed to follow them wherever they went. They lost count of how many were thrown from the mountains by the violent storms, but they would not give in."
