Pan
Made in Porcelain, with Flute and the Reeds are all painted with 9ct gold
Pan sit’s astride rocks above a stream. He plays his pipes sweetly and beguilingly over the water where dragonflies and swallows swoop. Beneath the waters flow fish who watch Pan. They know his curious ways and will not dance for him.
Yet the nymph will. They shall dance and know him.
I was fascinated by Pan because he’s the god of the Wilda and a shepherd. He is seen here playing rustic music amongst the reeds. Some say he is playing for the nymphs others for his flock.
As you can see he has the hindquarters, legs, and horns of a goat, in the same manner as a faun or a Satyr.
I wanted to portray him a lone, yet, he plays his flute~calling the wary into his little games.
The piece is 14 inches high (35 cm). At it widest its 10 inches. 25 cm
