Gangerlin is one of the 900 trees carried by the elvish people in the great exodus from the unnatural storms raging in the northern realms of Elsewhere in the early years of the third age. Gangerlin was carried by the king.
We meet Gangerlin for the first time in Book One~ The Hidden Destiny. It's a thousand years after the exodus.
Findorian, descendent of Glendorrian has been in exile, refusing to be King since the mystery of his fathers disappearance sixteen years before. One day he hears a strange singing coming from the near by forest and when he goes to find out who it is making such a din~he finds az great tree in full voice, admittedly a strange deep voice. Gangerlin is playing with words, he has discovered he loves words and is stretching them out in all kinds of ways.
Findorian quickly discovers something else very peculiar to Gangereli: Namely~he has many faces~all of them seemingly, aspects of himself.
