Seals exploring

from £75.00

This is from a watercolour painting where I used wax resist to add a sense of translucency and movement to the scene. I did a light sketch with a HB pencil to get the balance between the seals as they explored the under sea world. Once that part seemed right I then lay light blue washes over the whole water area, then browns and sepia's over the seals. Once dry the wax is rubbed away revealing the paper beneath. These can in turn be colour washed or not but the idea is to get a sense of magic and lightness. The other sea life I then developed in small areas until I felt the painting was complete.
